As many will know, Bodyline switched ownership a while ago. Gone is the questionable mister Yan, gone is the 2004-looking website (nicely traded in for a 2010-looking one), and the new owners replaced many of the old terrible stock photos with new ones. And they added a bunch of new items that honestly don't look like Bodyline in a good way! They still seem to be looking at what works and what doesn't, as they released some new dresses in just one or two colours and only one or two options of new accessories. In this post I want to take a look at some of their new stock. Gorgeous? Gorgeous. If I'd see someone wear this at a meetup I'd guess it's one of Angelic Pretty's many cherry prints rather than Bodyline! The print is pretty repetitive with only a few copypasted cherries, but it has a lot of details like little ribbons on the cherry stems and the fruit looks so juicy and plump the way it's drawn. Something that's ideal for a lolita with a wide taste but a small budget is a dress that can be styled for several different substyles. Some BTSSB dresses can be styled classic or sweet, AP has released several pieces that could easily fit in a gothic wardrobe etcetera. However I wanted to see if I could find a dress that would work for all three main substyles: sweet, classic and gothic. I originally thought such a dress would be black, but in the end I stumbled upon this guy: Angelic Pretty's Dolly Damask jumperskirt in red. I feel this dress is extremely versatile! The brocade fabric is super opulent and perfect for classic, the pattern itself is quite sweet, however it isn't too much. The colour and brocade finish and the subtle details make it suitable for gothic too, even if it has hearts and ribbons in the print.  One of the less nice sides of wearing a flashy style like lolita is public response. Lots of people will think you look adorable, which is great, but you will also run into less pleasant people and often girls, especially newer lolitas, don't know how to deal with someone like that. Hey y'all! While I am traveling on a budget right now, I couldn't let luckypack season pass me by while I'm IN Japan! None of the lolita brands' luckypacks caught my eye except Metamorphose, and 25000 yen for one dress set is definitely a bit too much for me right now. Instead I went with some non-lolita brands but I decided to still make a post about it because they're quite lolita-esque and also seeing luckypack contents is just a lot of fun! Axes Femme had no less than 5 types of luckypacks with small preview pictures so I knew roughly what to expect and their regular pack seemed right up my alley! The image a lot of people get when thinking about Harajuku is a quirky artsy neighborhood with lots of quirky people in interesting and unique outfits. Maybe you think of Haruka Kurebayashi or RinRin Doll. What a lot of people don't know though is that this image is quite outdated. These days, Harajuku is absolutely flooded with tourists. Most shops are fast fashion- the first shop you saw when leaving the station used to be an H&M! A really big one too. Takeshita dori is mostly small cheap shops, lots of knockoffs, and so many tourists you can barely move. I remember feeling a little disappointed when I first entered the street. So where did all the artsy resale shops go? They moved to Cat Street! Cat Street is an alleyway behind Harajuku that I think fits the image of artsy resale shops way more. Imagine this. You've finally booked the trip of your life, you're going to Japan. You have accommodation, travel tips and your suitcase is ready to go. At home I have a normal to oily skin and usually I need to touch up my T-zone several times daily, and I never need handcream or lipbalm. Here in Japan though, I got chapped lips for the first time in years. I brought my favourite lipsticks, only for me to never wear them because they dried my lips out even further.
